Tai Chi Wuji respects your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information — including data processed through the Wuji Academy membership program.

Information We Collect

Public visitors. Anonymous analytics data (page views, referrer, browser type) via Cloudflare Web Analytics. If you subscribe to our newsletter or download a free resource, we collect your email address.

Member accounts. To create a Wuji Academy membership we collect your email address, which becomes your account identifier. We store account metadata (creation date, sign-in dates), a session record, and your subscription status. We never store passwords — sign-in uses a single-use link emailed to you (valid 15 minutes).

Payments. Membership payments are processed by Paddle (Paddle.com Market Ltd), our Merchant of Record. When you purchase, Paddle collects your payment details (card number, billing address) under its own privacy policy, available at paddle.net/legal/privacy. We receive only your email address, subscription status, plan, and billing period dates — never your full card details.

How We Use Your Information

  • To authenticate you (send single-use sign-in links) and maintain your session (30 days, revocable via sign-out)
  • To grant or remove access to members-only content based on your subscription status
  • To send transactional emails (sign-in links, account notices) and, if you opted in, newsletter updates
  • To understand aggregate content usage and improve the site

We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

Third-Party Services

  • Cloudflare — hosting, DNS, database (D1), video delivery (Cloudflare Stream), and bot verification (Turnstile)
  • Paddle — Merchant of Record for membership payments, invoicing, tax compliance, and the customer billing portal
  • Resend — delivery of transactional and newsletter email
  • Brevo — newsletter subscription management (double opt-in)
  • Cloudflare Web Analytics — privacy-friendly analytics, no cookies, no cross-site tracking

Members-Only Video Delivery

Members-only videos are hosted on Cloudflare Stream, not public platforms. Playback URLs are cryptographically signed, limited to your session, and expire after a short period. Downloading is disabled. This protects instructors' intellectual property; no additional personal data is embedded in playback links.

Data Retention

Session records expire automatically after 30 days of issue. Single-use sign-in tokens expire after 15 minutes. Account and subscription records are retained while your membership is active. If you cancel, records are retained for up to 12 months for accounting and tax purposes, after which account data is deleted or fully anonymized. Newsletter subscriptions are removed immediately upon unsubscribe.

Your Rights (GDPR / CCPA)

Depending on your jurisdiction, you have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, to object to or restrict processing, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Because accounts are identified only by email, most requests can be fulfilled by contacting us and verifying that email address.

Canceling a Membership

You can cancel anytime via the billing portal in your member dashboard. Access continues until the end of the paid period, then reverts to the free tier; your account (email) remains unless you request deletion.

Security

We apply defense-in-depth measures: hashed session tokens, single-use expiring sign-in links, strict transport security, content-security-policy headers, rate limiting, bot verification, and signature verification on all payment webhooks. No system is perfectly secure, but we design to minimize what could be exposed.
